The new St. Patricks Cathedral Hotel, which will be the tallest building in Dublin, is to be one of the tallest in the world.
It will be built on the site of the former St. Vincent’s Hospital and will have an eight-storey tower.
It will have a total floor area of 1,100m2 and will be able to hold 1,500 guests, according to a company spokesman.
The building is the result of a collaboration between developer Loughborough Group and Irish developer and owner of the St. Petersburg Hotel, Soho Developments.
The hotel is set to be completed in 2019.
The project is part of a $4.6bn revitalisation plan for the site and the surrounding area, with a new, glass-enclosed hotel and retail development expected to open in 2020.
